Important note regarding course descriptions sent with state licensure applications: Each application requires submission of course descriptions copied from the academic catalog for the years in which courses were taken. Please note that it is NOT acceptable to create your own document with these descriptions. You MUST submit actual photocopies of the pages from the academic catalog. If you have questions regarding this requirement, please feel free to contact our office.

Iowa
Iowa Mental Health Counselor Education Review
Iowa Mental Health Counselor Education Review applications are reviewed based on the requirements outlined in 645 Iowa Administrative Code, Chapter 31(154D) (Licensure of Marital and Family Therapists and Mental Health Counselors), available at http://www.idph.state.ia.us/licensure/laws.asp?board=be.
Effective July 6, 2011, the educational requirements for licensure as a mental health counselor in Iowa were changed. The education review application posted here reflects those changes. Pursuant to a grace period determined by the Iowa Board of Behavioral Science, CCE will review applications under both the old and new requirements until November 15, 2011. Any applications postmarked after that date will be approved only if they document completion of the new requirements.
