ATCB Story of Impact

The Solution To meet their objectives, the ATCB needed a partner with expertise in credentialing policy, procedures, and management services. Although the Center for Credentialing & Education (CCE) was a young organization in 1999, it had established itself as a force in credentialing and board management. The ATCB chose CCE because CCE, as a not-for-profit organization, understood the challenges nonprofit boards encounter. CCE had the expertise the ATCB needed, and could provide them with qualified, committed staff and ample resources. The ATCB was CCE’s first major business support client and continues as a client today. “As current President of the ATCB, I am confident in CCE’s ability to guide and support the ATCB’s continued growth and stature as a credentialing body” says Barbara Parker-Bell, Psy.D., ATR-BC. “We are pleased that this positive trajectory enables the ATCB to fulfill its mission of protecting the public by promoting the competent and ethical practice of art therapy.” A Working Partnership From the beginning, development of a plan to address the ATCB’s objectives was made easier because the partners held similar assumptions about what success looked like. CCE knew it had the knowledge to assist the ATCB receive accreditation and heighten visibility of the Board’s work. “We designed a proposal that had a simple pricing structure for services that itemized how CCE could help them meet their goals,” says Cates. “They were looking for a problem solver.”
