Each year, CCE partners with the NBCC Foundation to provide scholarships and training awards to assist those in helping professions to earn CCE credentials and advance their professional identity and development.
The first scholarship, awarded in 2012, was presented to a master’s-level counseling student pursuing CCE’s flagship credential, the Global Career Development Facilitator (GCDF). Since then, the program has awarded more than $190,500, including $28,500 in 2021.
“CCE is always proud to partner with NBCCF for the opportunity to award CCE credential scholarships to very deserving candidates who have demonstrated excellence in their pursuit in the counseling field and desire to extend their reach to underprivileged and underserved communities,” says Tammi Lee, Vice President of Business Services and Partnerships.
The awards Include:
- Global Career Development Facilitator (GCDF) Domestic: Five scholarships of up to $1,000 each
- GCDF International: Four scholarships of $1,000 each
- Board Certified Coach (BCC): Three awards of up to $3,000 each
- CCE Approved Clinical Supervisor (ACS): Five awards of $500 each
- Board Certified-TeleMental Health Provider (BC-TMH): Ten awards of $500–$600 each
Monique Barber, MS, NCC, BC-TMH, LPC, a licensed professional counselor in Meridian, Idaho, is currently pursuing her PhD in the Counselor Education and Supervision Program at Liberty University. Winning a 2021–2022 Board Certified-TeleMental Health Provider (BC-TMH) Award enabled her to obtain the credential and will help her reach more clients.
“I was thrilled to receive the scholarship award to pursue my Board Certified-TeleMental Health Provider training,” Barber says. “The training I received was thorough and prepared me for the exam. I plan to use this certification to continue to serve underserved and never-served populations throughout Idaho.”
“The NBCC Foundation is honored to once again administer training awards and scholarships to individuals seeking professional development through the Center for Credentialing & Education,” says Isabel Gomez, Vice President of Foundation and Professional Services for the NBCC Foundation. “These scholarships and training awards will give underserved communities, domestically and globally, access to mental health professionals that may not be available otherwise. The past 2 years of the COVID-19 pandemic have highlighted the increased need for Board Certified-TeleMental Health Providers.”
The application period for the awards listed above will open in May 2023. Learn more about the eligibility requirements and how to apply here.
