As a credential holder, you’re already familiar with some of the educational and professional development opportunities CCE is known for, but you may be surprised to learn that is only one facet of our work. CCE offers much more than its name suggests! Here is a glimpse at some of the other ways our departments work with individuals and organizations around the world.
Assessments and Examinations
In partnership with the National Board for Certified Counselors’ (NBCC) Assessments Department, we offer examination development for helping professions by specially trained psychometricians, subject matter experts, and item writers. Our Counselor Preparation Comprehensive Examination is designed to assess students’ competence of foundational, counseling-related knowledge and parallels the nationally recognized standards of the Council for Accreditation of Counseling and Related Educational Programs (CACREP).
Business Development
Our Business Development Department fosters relationships with individuals, organizations, and universities that offer training and continuing education for our credentials. It also conducts research to develop marketing strategies for our many products and services.
Contracted Management Services
This group provides a variety of services to state licensing boards, nonprofit associations, and credentialing bodies, including strategic guidance, board management, customer service, accounting, and marketing. We also provide administrative support, website development and maintenance, and event planning so that these organizations can focus on their missions while we help with day-to-day operations.
Jurisprudence Assessments and CCE Academy
Professional counseling licensing boards can partner with us to develop, maintain, and administer jurisprudence examinations to measure the knowledge and skills required by state law. We also manage the administration of assessments through CCE Academy, our online learning platform, where applicants can complete tutorials, assessments, and examinations, and take courses securely anywhere, anytime.
Licensure Support and Education Review
We provide customized solutions for state boards, including administrative support, educational review assistance, and consultation to help them prepare for accreditation. We also manage licensure candidate transcript review and validation for several states, and applications for certification and testing.
Scholarships and Professional Development Assistance
Lastly, over the past 10 years, the CCE Scholarship Program, in collaboration with the NBCC Foundation, has provided more than $190,500 in awards to help professionals attain CCE credentials and support their career development and continuing education. The application period for this year’s CCE-funded training awards and scholarships will open in May, and you can find more information here.
