Requirements Board Certified-TeleMental Health Provider

Applicants for the BC-TMH credential must meet the following requirements:

A Qualifying License and/or Credential

There are TWO ways candidates can meet this requirement.

  • Hold a current, active qualifying license to practice in a behavioral health field in the state or country in which you reside or work. Please review this list of qualifying license types. If you are currently working as an associate or under supervised practice in one of the listed license types, you also qualify as long as you are complying with your practice limitations.
  • Hold a current, active qualifying credential to practice in a behavioral health field from the list of qualifying credentials and certifications

A copy of your license and/or certification will be required for application.

Training

You must have successfully completed the online Telemental Health Professional Training Series, passing each module and the comprehensive final examination.

This TMH training exam must be completed within the last two years prior to submitting your credential application. A certificate of final examination completion is required at the time of application.

Disclosure

Applicants must disclose any criminal, legal, or disciplinary related matters when applying for this credential. A disclosure and all required documentation must be submitted with your application. Reviews of required disclosed matters are processed in accordance with current CCE policies and procedures, including the CCE Credential Eligibility Policy-Ethics.

Application Fees

A nonrefundable, nontransferrable application fee of $100 is due at the time of application. Your application will be held open for three years to allow you to submit all required materials.
